Painting is my key to the magical sky; my way up to the clouds where I can see the earth from. I remember I used to see the world very colorful when I was a child. By the time I started to believe we are living with very limited colors in our daily life, I realized world was not really that much colorful.
I wanted to capture the feeling of childish happiness again and by playing with colors, using them in different patterns was my source of inspiration. Since from the very beginning it was magical, the process of painting an empty canvas into a window of my subconscious world. Over the years, it became my uttermost ambition. Painting has filled me with a sense of accomplishment and pleasure, and it has proven that colors were the most amenable medium for turning imagination to reality.
I use acrylic to pop up the brightness and to paint from color to color. As well as using lines to express movement and to convey emotion, I also use layers of diverse material. Though I work quite deliberately, I happened to hit many happy accidents incorporating coincidence. Bold shapes, vibrant colors and thick lines are my favorite tools on my canvas, while my images explode in a lively and whimsical style to open a window to our childhood happiness.
My work intends to create an optimistic view of the world. My imagery is created through movement and process without preconception. Each work is an exigency; an itch and its completion is a satisfying release.
My works are mostly touched by the Pop Art as well as Cubist movement.
The abstract, flexible nature of painting allows me to fly between order and chaos, choices and randomness and it frees my imagination and provides many opportunities to influence the finished canvas.
Perhaps that is what my work is really all about.
